Mike Stabile is a journalist and documentary filmmaker who has spent more than a decade advocating for sex workers and sexual freedom. His work has been published in outlets such as The Daily Beast, Salon, Buzzfeed, Playboy, and The New York Times. His documentary Seed Money, which profiles the life of Chuck Holmes, was named one of The Advocate’s Best Documentaries of 2015.
Stabile founded Polari Media in 2013 to help underrepresented communities and nontraditional businesses engage with mainstream audiences. He also manages communications for the Free Speech Coalition, an organization that protects the rights of adult industry workers. For more than 30 years, the coalition has been a leader in combating stigma, misinformation, and discriminatory policies, fighting and winning key battles in court and public forums.
